I came here considering my dog was sick with cancer. Dr. Fitzpatrick performed superior treatment. I take been to other Oncologists a few years ago at another infirmary and they weren't as thorough, knowledgeable or compassionate. I found out that VCA South Shore added a new Oncologist over a year ago. I am glad that I saw Dr. Fitzpatrick. He was worth the money & the drive specially since the economic system is so bad. He truly cared well-nigh my canis familiaris and knew what he was doing! Dr. Fitzpatrick espouses professionalism, superior noesis and an excellent bedside way (which is unusual for doctors). I can't thank him enough!!! I take told my friends and colleagues nearly this doctor. I just got a puppy and volition go dorsum to VCA South Shore Beast Hospital because of my positive experience with this doctor. I detest to leave the former hospital that I was going to for over 20 years simply they we not well-nigh as nice, caring and knowledgeable as Dr. Fitzpatrick. Cheers for such wonderful care!

So. Weymouth VCA has saved my canis familiaris'southward life TWICE in the past half dozen years during an emergency visit and surgery to remove a mast cell tumor. Dr. Walker, Dr. Perry and Dr. Diamond are all compassionate and fabled and then are all the techs. I have moved 40 miles away, but I however take my dog hither. They are worth it.

Vca Due south Shore Animal Hosp is Atrocious!!!!!

Warning to all pet owners...Practise Not BRING YOUR PET TO VCA SOUTH SHORE Fauna HOSPITAL! Our family canis familiaris, whom had had a terrible starting time of his life (he was abused- we had rescued him) adult an infection. When we brought him to VCA SSAH as an emergency visit @ 12am, they prescribed him antibiotics and gave him meds for the pain, sent u.s. home after paying $400. The next day, his entire head swelled to the size of a large beach ball. He and then went dorsum to the infirmary. They tested his claret, couldnt place the infection and immediately demanded payment of $1300!!! During his hospital stay, they chosen multiple times that day saying he was getting ameliorate just they would like to go along him one more than night. All all of a sudden, we receive another call telling united states of america his progress is at a stand still but they tin def get him better. They and so continued with, "nosotros tin can fix him, just not without payment". Later shelling out nearly $2000 in 2 days, we assumed that would be practiced-will plenty that the bill would be taken care of. Now, we have to make up one's mind whether we will be paying some other $1000 for the next day and a half or will we be putting our 'family fellow member' downwardly because they will not make payment arrangements with the states. I'chiliad sorry but I recall paying $2000.00 in 36 hours should be good will enough for them to bill us.
On acme of everything else, the entire staff lacks people skills. When I payed the $1300, they didnt even give me an itemized bill stating what was done. When I asked for it, they got my phone number confused with 2 other patients. Are you kidding? This place should be shut down!!! They will overcharge you, do unneccesary tests and treatments, be completely rude to you and ontop of everything---they will go you lot confused with other patients!!!! I take non heard annihilation expert about this place and recommend that non another brute be treated in that location!
My cat needed a refill for her glaucoma eye drops before we dropped her off at a boarding facility. The first woman I spoke to at 10AM said that she'd looked upwards her account, everything was all ready, and she but needed to fax over the refill. Well, it wasn't that simple. Information technology ended upwardly turning into a 5-hour ordeal with multiple calls to our pharmacy and to the VCA, also as multiple assurances that the refill would be faxed to the pharmacy within minutes.
Finally, at 3PM, someone from the VCA (who didn't get out her proper noun) left a message maxim that my cat's prescription could not be refilled because Massachusetts state police says that a cat must be seen at least within a yr by the doctor, before obtaining a refill. Wow, they could have just told me that at 10AM.
If you want a caring vet with a dandy staff, go to the Marshfield Animal Hospital. They are expanding their facility, and so they won't have to refer out for more than specialized bug like my cat's. I've had my cats seen past Dr. Barrow and Dr. Johnson--both astonishing vets.
I had a different experience with SSAH that happened a few months agone.
We had a very large dog (Shepherd) we unremarkably took to some other place for routine stuff. He started to go down hill over a couple of weeks and wasn't snapping out of it. We fabricated an appointment at our regular vet simply our guy started to go downhill at lightning speed so we ended up calling South Shore late one night. This was the night before our appointment with our regular place.
They were not only really helpful and caring merely very upwards front when information technology came to the prices besides. Possibly they were told to be more up front with customers.
Nonetheless, we brought our big fella there and they did their best, the Dr. came out several times asking for permission to do each and every process, she was likewise knowledgeable regarding the estimated cost. I'thou non proverb they are cheap mind you lot. Nosotros got to the part where Ten-rays were needed and we were quoted $400 to $500 and this would not fix him, merely give them a better idea on what direction to go in. She also said in her opinion, with a dog this old and the tests they had run so far, information technology looked like information technology was leaning toward cancer and probably looking at thousands.
He was eleven years old and really not doing well, nosotros opted to put him to sleep. The Dr. stood behind our decision and didn't try to button usa toward many more expensive tests to fifty-fifty see for sure.
They ended upwardly not charging us for the role visit ($140 +/-) because of the whole ordeal. Nosotros were really surprised and grateful, the whole affair was still expensive only not nearly what nosotros though information technology might cost. They even do cremation and that cost was included in the final price.
We were very happy with them, the intendance our dog got and the manner the staff handled the whole thing. We will go dorsum there again.

unnecessary test and expensive!!
★☆☆☆☆
I took my cat for a urinary rails infection and afterward an hour of unnecessary test I went home with medicine and a $580 bill. I was told my 14 year one-time cat had a heart murmur and should see a cardiologist. I was never told the expense or what the dr. was doing. I did phone call to mutter and the doctor told me "well you didn't expect similar you lot couldn't afford the test" I will never become there again. I was wondering why everyone was paying with their accuse card.
